Job Description
Provide direction in all areas of Health Physics and related training. Oversee business activities including, but not limited to, business development, client service activities, budgeting, operations, and marketing. Provide oversight and implement ARS Radiation Protection Program. Responsible for maintaining management duties and for the profitable, ethical, safe, and regulatory compliant operation of ARS as it involves Health Physics. Maintain and develop organizational culture, values and reputation in applicable markets and with staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies. Set standards and expectations for leadership and other key positions. Act as designated Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for a Louisiana DEQ radiological laboratory licenses, a LDEQ decommissioning license and a Broad Scope Type A NRC decommissioning license. Draft and submit all radioactive material license requests for applicable states as well as to the NRC. Prepare MARSSIM/Final Status Survey reports as required. Ensure all radiological material is received, transported, screened and controlled to maintain ALARA for all personnel. Review all radiological swipe survey results to ensure survey has been completed as required and documentation is accurate and complete. Enforce No RAD Added policy to prevent radioactive material and potentially radioactive materials are kept separate from other sample wastes to prevent cross-contamination. Ensure maintenance of the complete RSO Inventory Activity Log (amount of activity per element). Conduct radiation safety audits annually and provide summarized report to executive management. Supervise the tracking of radiation exposure for all personnel participating in the ARS Dosimetry program and post results quarterly. Maintain all radiological control records. Ensure management is kept informed of all health and safety aspects related to radiological controls.
Required Skills
Master s degree preferred; BA/BS degree in Health Physics or a science-related related field required. Minimum ten (10) years of experience at a senior management level. Must possess Certification in Health Physics (CHP) from the American Board of Health Physics. Completion of OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and maintain annual refresher training. Highly skilled with computers and instrumentation. Ability to manage and supervise others. Ability to multi-task projects. Ability to work with time constraints and complete projects on time. Ability to complete advanced mathematical calculations including radiological calculations with RESRAD/MicroShield/etc. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Valid state driver s license. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check. Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens. Must be able to pass HAZWOPER physical and respirator fit test. Must be able to travel up to 50%25%20of the time.
Required Experience
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in Health Physics in a senior role. Expert knowledge of 10 CFR 20, 10 CFR 835, OSHA 1910.120, equivalent Agreement State regulations and other applicable regulatory guidelines within DOD, DOE and NRC for health physics. Experience in developing USACE Sampling & Analysis plans, Field Sampling plans, Final Status Survey plans and Radiation Protection plans. Expert knowledge of MARSSIM; ability to design and implement MARSSIM final status surveys. Expert knowledge of budgetary requirements, financial statements, etc. Demonstrated experience coordinating proposal efforts, writing proposals and developing cost estimates. Additional experience in Safety highly desired (CSP certification a plus).

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
