Process Safety Supervisor

The successful candidate will be responsible for OSHA 29 CFR 1910.19 compliance including process safety management, risk management, and company and contractor by promoting safety excellence within the company. Responsibilities include: coordinating management of change (MOC) documentation efforts for facilities and pipelines. Managing or facilitating process hazard analysis (PHA), hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), and pre start up safety reviews for operations groups and capital projects. Organizing and participating in internal PSM compliance audits. Managing or participating in incident investigations and tracking of action items. Identifying, developing, assigning and training personnel on necessary safety topics via safety meetings, annual safety training, computer based training, use of subject matter experts, and safety courses. Conducting monthly and annual safety audits of facilities. Assisting operations, engineering and construction on projects to ensure safe work practices are being utilized; participate in safety committee meetings.
Requirements
Minimum of five years of safety experience within the oil and gas industry. Knowledge of safety principles and compliance requirements of regulatory codes (OSHA, EPA, LA DEQ, PHMSA, DOT, etc.). Working knowledge of gas processing, pipelines and hydrocarbon storage operations. Proficient in reading process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and process flow diagrams (PFDs). Excellent computer skills (MS excel, word, powerpoint and outlook). Excellent leadership and people skills. Interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills. Work independently with minimal direct supervision. Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize daily work load. Ability to communicate effectively to large groups of employees including one on one situations and with regulatory agencies
Education
Bachelors degree in safety management or industrial hygiene.
